WCW: CALL HER TAMMY RIVERA.

image

Well, where do i start now? Last weekend was a girls’ weekend so amidst the catching up and stuff the rain decided to work its way and we saw it better to continue watching LHHATL. It was on the episode where Tammy was launching her clothing line T-Rivera. That led to deep romantic moments later when they decided to get married. Talk of movie perfect relationships!

image

Before they got to the show people had always thrown shade on Wocka claiming he was not good looking but as we know beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. All i can say now is people should not judge at all! Seriously?

image

Anyway  Tammy is a super classy girl, with curves to die for.

image

If slept and woke up like her, Lord!!! i mean she has a daughter but looks this smashing!

I remember she tried giving Joseline a few tips but boy that did not go so well..

TRUTH TUESDAY: NO DOUCHING PLEASE.

image

Life as a female entails myths, misconceptions, half-truths and truths. One advice off the line can potentially damage you as everyone is not the same and what works for one does not necessarily have to work on the other.

image

We grow up and the point we start to differentiate ourselves from boys, we realize too much comes with it. How to handle periods, pimples, nasty odours, how to bathe and bathe well.
I remember vividly the phobia of showering. Hell, there is no way the damn cold water was going to touch my back on a damn cold evening! You know how the water would be splashed all over the bathroom then you walk out like a rabbit on the hunt. And Mom would be right at the corridor “Ee kuja hapa! Umeoga kweli? Hebu geuka!” …need i say the mighty slap that would land on that poor back lol…
So much for that, learning how to bathe goes down to how to clean our vaginas too(well, i just have to call a spade a spade).

image

So much is said about this sensitive topic and today on Truth Tuesday we are going step by step to know what really should we do or know about our “downtowns”.

Vaginal secretions or discharge.

image

Other than periods as part of our natural menstrual cycle, it’s normal to produce clear or white secretions (discharge) from the vagina. This is produced naturally from the neck of the womb, known as the cervix.Vaginal discharge is not ‘always a bad sign’ as stereotyped. There is a myth that copious clear or white discharge is associated with sexually transmitted infections. Changes in the amount of discharge can be 100% hormonal – in other words, linked to the menstrual cycle,
pregnancy or menopause.
The character and amount of vaginal discharge varies throughout your menstrual cycle. Around ovulation your discharge usually becomes thicker and stretchy, like raw egg white.
Healthy discharge doesn’t have a strong smell or colour. You may feel an uncomfortable wetness,
but you shouldn’t have any itching or soreness around your vagina. If there are any changes to your discharge that aren’t normal for you, such as a change in colour or if it starts to smell or itch, see a gyna as you might have an infection.

Bacteria in the vagina
There are lots of bacteria inside the vagina, and they’re there to protect it. Scientifically and biologically the vagina contains more bacteria than anywhere
else in the body after the bowel, but the bacteria are there for a reason.
The good bacteria inside the vagina:
1.Provide “numerical dominance”: they outnumber other potential harmful bacteria that might enter the vagina.
2.Help to keep the vagina’s pH  balance (how acidic the vagina is) at an even level, which helps to keep the balance of bacteria healthy.
3. Can produce bacteriocins (naturally occurring antibiotics) to reduce or kill other bacteria entering the vagina.
4. Produce a substance that stops
invading bacteria sticking to the vagina walls, which prevents bacteria from invading the tissues.
If the balance of bacteria is disturbed, this can lead to infection and inflammation. Bacteria called lactobacilli (do not mind the strong biological terms) help to keep the vagina’s pH balance at its normal low level (less than pH 4.5), which also prevents the growth of other
organisms. If the pH of the vagina increases (in other words, if it gets less acidic), the quality or amount of lactobacilli can fall and other bacteria can multiply. This can result in infections such as bacterial vaginosis or thrush, which can cause symptoms including itching, irritation and
abnormal discharge.

Washing your vagina
It’s a good idea to avoid perfumed soaps, gels and antiseptics as these can affect the healthy
balance of bacteria and pH levels in the vagina and cause irritation.
Use plain, unperfumed soaps to wash the area around the vagina (the vulva) gently every day.
The vagina will clean itself inside your body with natural vaginal secretions (discharge). I know that really clashes with what we know but that is how it is. During
your period, washing more than once a day may be helpful.
Keeping the perineal area (between the vagina and anus) clean is important too. Good perineal hygiene is necessary, by washing that area at least once a day using your normal bathing
routines. All women are different though. Some may wash with perfumed soap and not notice any problems. But if one has vulval irritation or symptoms, then one of the first things you can do is to use non-allergenic plain soaps to see if that helps.

Vaginal douches.

image

A douche flushes water up into the vagina, clearing out vaginal secretions. Some women use
a douche to “clean” the vagina, but using a douche can disrupt the normal vaginal bacteria so it isn’t recommended that you use one.
There of any circumstances where
douches are helpful, because all they do is wash out everything that’s in the vagina, including all
the healthy bacteria. There is no evidence that douching protects
against STIs or vaginal infections, and it may even increase the risk.

Scented vaginal wipes and deodorants.
These perfumed products can disrupt the vagina’s healthy, natural balance.

image

If nature had intended the vagina to smell like roses or lavender, it would have made the vagina smell like roses or lavender.Washing with water and a plain soap should be all you need to keep your vagina healthy. It’s normal for the vagina to have a scent. Vaginal odour can change at different times of the reproductive cycle and shouldn’t always be thought of as being a sign of infection or illness.
If you’re worried about the way your vagina smells, if the smell is unpleasant, or you’re using
perfumed products to cover up your vagina’s smell, you should see a gyna. You might have
an infection that needs treatment.
The most common cause of unusual vaginal discharge is bacterial vaginosis, which can cause an unpleasant smell. It’s easily treated with antibiotics.

Safer sex.
Some bacteria and viruses can get into the vagina during sex. These include the bugs that cause chlamydia, gonorrhoea, genital herpes, genital warts, syphilis and HIV. You can protect yourself by using a condom every time you have sex.

image

People take this so much for granted. Prevention is better than cure that is all i can say.

Cervical screening.

image

All women aged from 25 to 64 are invited for cervical screening. Being screened regularly means that any abnormal changes in the cervix can be identified early on and, if necessary, treated to stop cancer developing. Screening is not something for the rich nor is it time wasting. It is done for free annually just get to know the dates. January is the cervical cancer awareness month.

Now do you love your vajayjay? Take good care of it. Hope this has been helpful. Have a great week ahead.
Xoxo.

TRENDY THURSDAY: CHRONIC TEACHINGS OF A REGAL FATTY.

Hey people am back been long since fatshionistas had their fatshion candy and today we are going to feast, believe me..
So the other day like three days ago Bae and I were having a conversation about BBWs lol don’t even ask how we got there. All i know i knew zero things about them and soon as the convo was over I was on my partner in everything , Google to find out more. No sooner had i started looking than my eyes landed on this:

image

The Chief BBW as she preffers to call herself on twitter or Queen Charisma on her blog “ Chronic Teachings of a Regal Fatty”. I was mesmerized… jaw-droppingly mesmerized.

“I am the only person in the world I’d like toknow thoroughly, I’m enough of an artist to draw freely upon my own imagination, I love the why of things, I’m so clever that sometimes I don’t understand a word of what I say, I am patient –
provided I get my way in the end. I am the greatest, said that even before I knew. FaTshion is my soulmate, music is my sidepiece. I am unaltered, unmatched, the original. I am inspiration, a conqueror.
I am charismatic ambition, the vision, I’m my own heroine.”
Does that not encourage a sister? Can somebody give me that amen!!
Charisma Monroe is an impeccable beauty, that, you cannot dispute. Her style is fierce, breaking fashion rules and stunning…
They way she pairs her outfits is total inspiration.

You can notice that her outfits are high waisted. This enhances her figure more and does not give room for any ill-fitting. Even with the dresses the under garments should fit well as she dresses up herself.

Do not be scared of prints either way…rock them well and thou shall not be disappointed.
Hope you are inspired, jaw-droppingly inspired like I was :-). Lovely day Fatshionistas.

TRUTH TUESDAY: IN THE EYES OF THE AFRICAN MAN.

The internet busts daily with tips on how to catch your man cheating yet few to state what our precious African men want. A quick internet search of what men want from women reveals a combination of ideas, opinions and wishes from men of all races – except of course African men. Maybe it’s because no one ever bothered to ask them. Or maybe it’s because they have been
lumped in with all other black men by those assuming that no cultural differences exist between them. Or maybe it’s because African men are generally known to shy away from openly discussing their emotional needs. It is somehow also assumed that African women know what African men want
in a relationship. And, maybe we do. But times have changed, things have changed, and so have our expectations of each other
when it comes to relationship

image

Those who care to admit it will make known the fact that dating African men can be quite complex for women who do not know their
way around the complications
of these gentle – yet firm, protective – yet defensive, peace loving – yet forceful souls.
Dating them, of course, has its myths, half-truths and truths, but once women are able to wrap their minds and emotions around
the many unspoken rules that come with dating African men, the two can live together in perfect unity.
To set African men apart from all other black
men, and to clear the air of any confusion, on Truth Tuesday we seek to know in black and white “What’s the most important trait
African men look for in the women they date
– especially African women?”
Here are those that made the top five:
1.Humility/Loyalty/Intellect: No doubt, Humility is an essential character trait to many African men. So,ladies, if you are looking to snag a good African man, no matter what the 21st century is telling you, these men are still seeking that humble streak in a woman. This is a part of our culture that will probably never change. It has kept the peace in many homes and provides a sound family structure. The bible even says that the man is the head of his household, no matter what.Every man wants a woman who respects him. Unlike the stereotyping, civilised african men are not afraid to hear a woman’s opinion, actually they respect a woman’s intelligence – a lot – and
are attracted to a woman who can hold her own in a conversation. What they are concerned with, is a woman who is brash and overstated. One who does not know when to quit and let sleeping dogs lie. Loyalty is another.
Apparently, the saying “stand by your man ” was not just sung in the 50’s and 60’s. It is expected in the year 2014 as well. Men want, and need to know, that their woman will be there for them, to
support them and care for them no matter the circumstances: whether rich or poor, educated or not.
2.Housekeeping Skills: As society changes, so do the dynamics in many relationships – out
with the old way of doing things and in with the new – but not when it comes to who’s responsible for keeping the home. Many African men still believe this is the primary responsibility of the woman in the house. They do understand the fact that women
today are increasingly working outside the home, but yet, many said they still want to come home to a home-cooked meal, a clean
home, and a loving and caring woman. Many say the right woman, for them, is one who
cooks and cleans, but yet, is modern in her way of thinking and the way she runs things. You need no rocket science to realize that civilised and exposed African men have no problem helping with household chores –many state they already do – the objection
repeating across the board is that they however don’t want to be told to do it, or that it’s their responsibility to help out. They help out as a way of expressing love and care to their wives. If however she were to come to home and say they are splitting the house chores 50-50,
now that … that they have a problem with that. I need not add more.
3. Bedroom Skills:
Waswahili husema mke mwema ni yule mzuri sana hadharani, hodari sana jikoni na…..malaya sana kitandani. Character and moral
behavior apparently will get you in the door and keep you there; your bedroom skills will be an added advantage. If you thought the
saying ‘lady in the streets and a freak in the bed’ was an American saying, you might want to think again. While African men are
exceedingly patient with their women when it comes to sex – because they understand that their sexual attitude is a direct result of the same culture and upbringing responsible for the way African men think and behave -many say they expect a woman to learn
quickly. Life can be really dull when a man finds himself with a woman unwilling to experiment
different things in the bedroom.
To serious men though a woman’s lack of sexual experience, or unwillingness to be flexible, is never enough cause, however, to
end a relationship as long as the woman possesses those other key qualities. Though you should know as a woman  that such unwillingness is enough to put a damper on the relationship, and may sometimes cause the
man to seek thrills elsewhere. African men are looking for the whole package just as African women are also looking for the whole package, but sometimes compromises must be made.
4.Personal Hygiene:
Nothing turns a man off more than a woman who neglects her personal hygiene or her appearance. Unkempt hair, dull clothing, and neglected personal hygiene are just a few of
the things mentioned that will leave an African man turning on his heels faster than
an antelope. They appreciate a woman with a good fashion sense, but who is not materialistic in her approach to what she wears and how she looks. About makeup and other accessories that varies from man to man. The grounds of agreement though are you don’t have to wear 50kgs of makeup on you or a million piercings and jingling jewelry!! They immensely appreciate a woman in her natural splendor and beauty. The
sentiment “look good for your man, in and
out of the house,” holds to the grave. Make your appearance an asset.
5.Hardworking/Self-Sufficient: Nothing seems to turn men off quicker than a lazy woman who always seems to want something from them. She is whiny and needy and wants the finer things in life, but will not work for it. It
may have been cute back in the days when men needed to feel that a woman’s happiness and success depended on them
filling those emotional voids.
Today, that’s a lot of pressure to put on any one human-being. In simple terms, just like men everywhere, African men want to spend their lives with a woman who is self-sufficient in life.
They need to know that when they are not around someday, that she will be able to stand on her own two feet and take care of herself the children and the property.

The men have spoken, but are we ready to put aside out 21st century liberated minds long enough to listen? That remains to be seen. But, don’t worry ladies for there are still a few out there who state that none of the above really matters to them, as long as
the two of you have an understanding, fun and relative chemistry. The caveat on that is
that you probably won’t make it down the
aisle without these five qualities! Goodnight Africa.

MCM: OMARI HARDWICK.

Well asking who’s watched Being Mary Jane is like asking who took breakfast today…a good number did I can bet.  Its obviously hard not to notice the bad bad boy oops married man Andre who drives MJ literally out of her mind…

image

We all love him on the screen don’t we?
Born “Omari Latif Hardwick,” he grew up in Decatur, Georgia. Hardwick’s parents gave him a name to set a precedent, “Omari”
meaning “most high,” and “Latif” meaning “gentle.” He shares, “I in no way believe that I am the highest or most high, but I feel like my name gives me something to
strive for.” Growing up, sports were
Hardwick’s world, but early on he knew he had a passion for the arts. By the age of 14, Hardwick was writing poetry on a regular basis, a passion he would carry with him into adulthood. In high school, he
excelled at basketball, baseball, and football, and went on to play football at the University of Georgia. His athletic body speaks it all.

image

image

Although a star on the field, Hardwick never gave up his passion for acting, and minored in theatre in college. He shares, “I hugely attribute sports to my success in entertainment
business. Being on the field taught me dedication and discipline – I already came from a strict household when I was growing
up, sports just took that to another level. Whenever I approach a set, I always feel as though the cast, crew, director, are all part
of a team. I have always married athletics and art, two huge parts of my life.”
So he is not just about looks, he’s got something actually alot of seriousness going on.

image

So my ladies feast your eyes and my gentlemen a little fashion inspiration and moral inspiration  won’t hurt 🙂
